Sand Dance by Stephane Humbert Lucas 777 is the reference behind Vulcan Sable by French Avenue, using whiskey, orange, warm spice and resinous vanilla to create the same boozy-amber atmosphere. Cashmeran softens the center while star anise and styrax make it smokier and more aromatic. It keeps the refined liquor warmth but gives the middle a slightly darker, spicier texture.
Top: whiskey, orange, coriander, mandarin

Base: vanilla, patchouli, benzoin
Whiskey, orange, coriander and mandarin open boozy and bright before cashmeran and tonka soften the middle. Styrax and star anise add smoke and spice, then vanilla, benzoin and patchouli leave a dark sweet finish.
Vulcan Sable comes on with about 3-5 feet of boozy citrus for the first two hours before the scent turns into a warm ambered trail. Longevity is roughly 7-9 hours, with benzoin, vanilla and patchouli carrying the drydown.
Fall and winter evenings are the natural fit for Vulcan Sable, when whiskey, tonka and styrax can feel composed rather than heavy. Dinner, cocktail bars, formal-casual events and relaxed nights out all work. The woody-boozy profile is broadly unisex.
