Layton by Parfums de Marly is the style The Lion's Club Rugir by Armaf is aiming for, using apple, lavender, vanilla and cardamom as the clearest connecting points. Mandarin and violet make the Armaf middle a little brighter, and guaiac wood, sandalwood and patchouli keep the drydown warm. Layton fans will notice a rougher, more straightforward version of the spiced-apple idea rather than the same smoothness.

Green apple, lavender, mandarin and bergamot start bright and aromatic before geranium, violet and jasmine soften the center. Vanilla and cardamom then warm guaiac wood, sandalwood, patchouli and amber into a creamy spiced-wood finish.
