Inspired by...

Khanjar by Lattafa is associated with Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois, but it heads down a much darker route than a straightforward clone. Nutmeg, pimento and ginger lead into violet and cashmeran before leather, incense and vetiver dominate the base. Think of the Ganymede comparison as a clue to the dry mineral texture, with Khanjar turning that idea smokier, tougher and more leather-driven.

Notes...

Top: nutmeg, pimento, ginger
Middle: violet, patchouli, cashmeran
Base: leather, incense, vetiver, musk

The experience...

Nutmeg, pimento and ginger open hot and dry before violet gives the middle a powdery coolness. Cashmeran and patchouli smooth that transition, then leather, incense and vetiver turn the drydown smoky, severe and almost charcoal-gray in mood.

Performance...

Khanjar is assertive at about 3-5 feet for the first 2-3 hours, and gradually becomes a smoky leather-and-vetiver trail. The scent stays present for around 8-10 hours, with leather, incense and musk staying well after the opening spice disappears.

Best for...

Khanjar feels right in fall and winter, especially from late afternoon into night. Leather jackets, evening events, lounges, concerts and colder nights out suit its dark dry character. The spice, vetiver and leather give it a masculine lean.
