Babycat by Yves Saint Laurent is the inspiration behind Fierte by French Avenue, built around the same tension between smoky spice and rich vanilla. Tobacco makes Fierte's opening darker, whereas elemi and cedar keep the center dry and resinous before benzoin and tonka soften the base. Fierte keeps Babycat's smoky vanilla tension but pulls the balance toward tobacco, resin and drier woods.

Incense, tobacco and saffron open smoky and dry before elemi, spice and cedar create a resinous woody middle. Vanilla, benzoin and tonka slowly soften that darkness, leaving creamy sweetness underneath the lingering smoke.
Fierte starts with about 3-5 feet of smoky spice for the first 2-3 hours then develops into a warm vanilla-resin trail. The fragrance holds for around 8-10 hours, with benzoin, tonka and cedar carrying the later wear.
Fierte belongs in fall and winter, especially after sunset when incense, saffron and vanilla can feel dramatic without becoming oppressive. Dinners, evening events, lounges and dressed-up nights out all fit. The smoke and dry woods give the unisex profile a slight masculine lean.
