Y Eau de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent is the obvious reference point for Sheikh Shuyukh Final Edition by Lattafa, but this version takes a greener, drier route. Lemongrass, sage and lavender sharpen the opening; leather, cardamom, rosemary and oakmoss give the heart more herbal structure before the ambered base. The fresh-sweet Y-style mood is still there, only with a more mature aromatic edge.
Top: lemongrass, sage, lavender, lemon
Middle: leather, cardamom, rose, rosemary, mimosa
Base: amber, musk, cedarwood, vanilla, oakmoss
Lemongrass and lemon open sharp and green around sage and lavender rather than giving a soft citrus wash. Leather, cardamom and rosemary add dryness through the middle, then amber, cedar, oakmoss and a little vanilla make the finish warmer without losing that herbal edge.
Sheikh Shuyukh Final Edition is more persistent than its price suggests, with useful projection through the opening before it becomes a closer aromatic-woody trail. Wear commonly stretches around 8 hours or longer, and the amber, musk, cedar and oakmoss base holds well through a full day.
Spring, summer and fall are its broadest seasons, though the sweet-green drydown also works on cooler days. Office hours, school, travel, errands and casual dinners are all easy fits. The sharp herbs, leather and woods give it a masculine lean.
