Rare Reef by Afnan is inspired by Pacific Chill by Louis Vuitton, pairing bright citrus, mint and tart fruit with a clean modern base. Apricot, fig and dates make the Afnan version juicier and slightly sweeter, giving the drydown more body than a simple fresh scent. Rare Reef gives the Pacific Chill idea more fruit weight and body, especially once apricot, fig and dates settle in.
Top: black currant, orange, citron, mint, coriander, grapefruit
Middle: apricot, basil, rose, violet leaf
Base: fig, dates, ambrette, amberwood
Chilled citrus, black currant and mint feel tart and energetic at the start, with coriander adding a crisp herbal snap. Apricot and basil soften the middle, then fig, dates, ambrette and amberwood give the drydown a musky sweetness that keeps the freshness from feeling thin.
Rare Reef projects strongly for about the first 2-3 hours and keeps a noticeable fruity-musky trail through much of the wear. Longevity often lands around 7-10+ hours, which is unusually solid for a bright citrus-and-fruit style.
