Rare Carbon by Afnan takes inspiration from Ombre Leather by Tom Ford, centering a dark leather accord with violet, woods and warm spice. Sandalwood and amber smooth the finish, but rose and oud give Afnan's version a sweeter, more floral edge. Here, rose and warmer woods soften the leather enough to make the profile feel more rounded and dressed-up than Ombre Leather.

Middle: rose, violet, cedarwood, oud
Base: vetiver, sandalwood, amber
Dark leather meets cool violet leaf and warm cinnamon at the start, creating a slightly bitter, dressed-up opening. Rose and cedar soften the center before vetiver, sandalwood and amber turn the drydown smoother, sweeter and more polished.
Expect roughly 6-10 hours overall, with leather, woods, amber and vetiver carrying the drydown after the brighter violet and spice recede. Rare Carbon usually projects moderately to strongly for the first 1-3 hours before moving closer.
It leans masculine, though the rose and violet soften the darker leather profile. Rare Carbon feels most natural in fall and winter, particularly from late afternoon into the night. Leather-jacket weather, concerts, dinners, lounges and date nights fit the scent well.
