Eau Santal by Montagne recreates the iconic dry-wood mood of Santal 33 by Le Labo through cardamom, violet leaf, papyrus, leather and sandalwood. Orris gives Montagne a smoother powdery center, and ambergris adds a slightly cleaner lift to the base. It keeps the familiar papery sandalwood character with a polished, softly leathery finish.

Cardamom and violet leaf open dry and green before orris gives the center a soft pencil-shaving powderiness. Papyrus, leather, cedar and sandalwood gradually take over, creating that unmistakable dry-paper-and-wood atmosphere.
Eau Santal has a dry woody presence from the beginning, carrying cardamom, violet leaf and papyrus clearly before the leather-and-sandalwood base settles closer. It stays with you for about 8-10 hours, with ambergris and cedar keeping the late drydown structured.
Eau Santal works best from fall through spring, especially offices, coffee shops, creative spaces, dinners and understated evening plans. It is completely unisex, with dry woods, leather and powdery orris mattering far more than sweetness or gender.
