Erba Pura by Xerjoff is the fruit-musk reference behind Club de Nuit Oud by Armaf, starting with the same idea of an enormous saturated fruit accord over musk and amber. Armaf then adds Cambodian oud, which turns the drydown darker, heavier and sometimes petroleum-like instead of simply creamy and fruity. Erba Pura fans should sample this for the contrast: familiar fruit up top, far more shadow underneath.
Top: peach, pear, passionfruit, pineapple, plum, bergamot
Middle: cashmere wood, jasmine, freesia, violet leaf
Base: musk, cambodian oud, vanilla, crystal amber
Peach, pear, passionfruit, pineapple and plum arrive in one dense tropical rush, sweet enough to feel almost overripe. Cashmere wood and florals soften the middle briefly before Cambodian oud, amber, musk and vanilla pull the drydown into a darker, heavier direction with a faint fuel-like edge.
Club de Nuit Oud is enormous, pushing roughly 5-8 feet for the first 3-4 hours before easing into a dense fruity-oud trail. A full wear is about 12-16 hours, and the oud, amber and musk can cling to clothing far beyond the skin wear.
This intensity is best saved for fall and winter, preferably in open spaces or evening settings where the fruit and oud have room to expand. Nightlife, outdoor events, bold dinners, parties and statement-scent occasions fit it. The tropical fruit keeps the dark oud profile near neutral, with a slight masculine edge in the drydown.
