Asad Elixir by Lattafa takes inspiration from Boss Bottled Absolu by Hugo Boss, centering the experience on spice, tobacco, woods and smoky amber. Grapefruit brightens the entrance before saffron and olibanum make the drydown more resinous and Middle Eastern. The overall direction is close, but Asad Elixir puts more emphasis on smoke and dry amber.
Top: pink pepper, saffron, grapefruit
Middle: tobacco, cedarwood, vanilla
Base: patchouli, olibanum, cashmeran, dry amber
Pink pepper and saffron open dry against grapefruit before tobacco, cedar and vanilla make the center richer. Patchouli and olibanum darken the base, while cashmeran and dry amber leave a polished smoky finish.
Asad Elixir comes on strong at 3-5 feet with saffron and tobacco for roughly 2-3 hours, then smoke and dry amber dominate the trail. Around 8-10 hours of wear gives the olibanum and cashmeran plenty of time to settle in.
Fall and winter evenings are the best setting for Asad Elixir, when tobacco, saffron and incense can feel refined rather than heavy. Dinners, lounges and nights out are its natural lane, with the dry woody structure giving it a masculine lean.
