Black Opium Le Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent is the reference behind Angelique by Frais et Frais, connecting pear, white florals, coffee and vanilla in a polished evening-gourmand style. Bitter almond and licorice make Angelique's center darker and slightly more unusual, whereas cedar and patchouli dry the finish out. The extra almond-licorice contrast keeps this from feeling like a straight copy of Black Opium's smoother vanilla-coffee formula.
