Ambre Musc by Montagne reworks Tuxedo by Yves Saint Laurent with coriander, violet leaf, black pepper, patchouli and vanilla at the center of the comparison. Montagne's version feels a little softer and more skin-hugging, with ambergris smoothing the patchouli instead of pushing heavy spice. It keeps Tuxedo's dressed-up sweet-patchouli character while presenting it in a quieter, more intimate way.
Top: light bergamot, coriander seeds, violet leaves
Middle: lily of the valley, rose, black pepper
Base: patchouli, ambergris, vanilla
Coriander and bergamot feel cool and aromatic against violet leaf, almost like a tailored jacket carrying a faint herbal scent. Black pepper and patchouli warm the fabric later, while vanilla and ambergris leave a smooth dressed-up trail close to the body.
Ambre Musc has a noticeable coriander-and-bergamot opening, but the projection becomes more restrained once violet, pepper and patchouli take over. A full wear is about 8-10 hours, wearing close and smooth through the vanilla-ambergris drydown.
